Libyan tribes want Russian bank account to distribute oil money
BENGHAZI, Jun 29 (PRIME) -- The supreme council of sheikhs and elders of Libyan tribes plans to open a banking account in Russia for fair distribution of oil revenue among the population, Vice Chairman of the authority al-Khaliq es-Senussi told PRIME on Monday.
The official said that the tribes oppose giving the money to the National Transitional Council, of which they notified the international community before. This rhetoric was one of the main reasons why oil deposits were blocked, he said.
"Besides, we offered the international community to open a new banking account, on which all profit from the sales of Libyan oil will arrive. I would like this account to be open in Russia so that all money from the sales of oil is there and equally redistributed among three regions of Libya," the official said.
The Libyan tribes would like Russia to supervise the negotiations on relaunch of oil deposits and ports, he also said.
